The Northern Youths Movement(NYM), has stated that the factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, was working for Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kduna state and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi. NYM also said that he was working alongside Ogun state senator, Buruji Kashamu, to achieve El-Rufai and Amaechi’s presidential and vice presidential ambition in 2019.
According to daily post reports, the northern youths said the PDP would remain in crisis as long as Sheriff and Kashamu remained in the party, and this was contained in a statement signed by its chairman, Mallam Ishaya Jato on Sunday, August 21.
According to the group, Kashamu was a drug trafficker and was afraid of being extradited to the United States of America to face trial, while Sheriff was involved in Boko Haram activities and was afraid of being tried. Which was why they were ready to do anything to destroy the PDP?
The NYM said Kashamu was acting as El-Rufai and Amaechi’s agents because they promised to save him from being extradited to the US.
The youths therefore called PDP leaders to expel Sheriff and Kashamu if they want peace to return to the party.
