The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has de­clared three-days fast­ing and prayers for the country between September 21 and 23,  because of the economic recession.

Pastor Adebayo Oladeji,  the special assistant on media to the CAN pres­ident, Rev. Samson Ola­supo Ayokunle made the statement.

“As we are getting ready for the 56th Inde­pendence Anniversary, the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has de­clared September 21-23, 2016 as days of fasting and prayers for the na­tion and His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari with his team.

“We call on all Christians nationwide to seek the face of God for divine intervention as our political leaders are seeking for panacea to the economic recession and the attendant prob­lems.”
