According to the source, the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, has released 22 inmates across all prisons in the state.

The Governor said he did this with the “Spirit of Independence” during his speech at the Government House in Bauchi on Friday, September 30.

His speech:

“As we celebrate the 56th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence, my appeal to all of us is to re-dedicate ourselves to our country, be patriotic and above all, continue to pray to Almighty Allah to shower his blessings and mercies on us.

“The age of 56 is no doubt a sufficient period to show significant growth and development as a nation. In the spirit of Independence and by the powers conferred on me as the Chief Executive of the state, I am happy to announce that I have pardoned 22 inmates from the prisons across the state.”
