Mallam Muhammad Bello, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has instructed members of the Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to stop cattle grazing in Abuja metropolis during their meeting with him.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the minister, Muhammad Sule, the minister ordered the herdsmen to move their cattle out of the FCT, “because there is no way such animals can co-habit with the residents, or roaming the streets and highways and it may cause accident.

FCT administration has provided 33,485 hectares of land for a new grazing reserves that would cater for about seven million herds of cattle grazing requirements. For example, Paikon Kore (8,500 hectares); Karshi (6,000 hectares); Kawu Bwari (9,000 hectares); and Rubochi in Kuje with 9,985 hectares.
