Kano State government want to improve environmental sanitation and give the state capital a facelift that befits an emerging mega city that will cost over N1bn to re-construct culverts and landscape adjoining pathways in several parts of Kano metropolis.
On Thursday night during a meeting with National Assembly members from the state in Abuja, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, revealed this plan for the state.
“We also intend to embark on the construction of strategic roads in each of the senatorial zones, starting with two roads per zone under our Rural Access Mobility programme. We have already identified the roads and we shall construct them through direct labour.”
“We have embarked on massive construction of roads in Kano and rural areas like the Karfi – Bunkure – Rano Road and so many others. The aim is to open up our state for enhanced movement of agricultural products to markets and to generally facilitate economic development.”
