The Nigeria Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Command, has promoted 44 assistant superintendents of police to the rank of deputy superintendents of police.

Mr. Donald Awunah, the Commissioner of Police in the state, said on Friday that promotion was aimed at motivating officers.

He also said that, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, since assumption of office has elevated over 5,000 police officers.

“Promotion is a component of the Nigeria Police Force reward system. Since the IGP’s assumption of the office, he has promoted about 5,000 ASPs.

“This is a remarkable achievement. Motivation is one of the cardinal objectives of reward systems, which in this case is promotion. The IGP has said that promotion is a continuous process. So, you must work hard to earn it.”
