According to reports, Ross Barkley did not accept a move to Chelsea as he didn’t want to rush his decision over his future.

The midfielder travelled to London on deadline day after the Premier League champions had a £35 million bid accepted by Everton.

But before having a medical, Barkley pulled the plug on the move, which means he will now stay at Goodison Park until at least the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail claims that Barkley made the decision because he didn’t wan’t to make a rash decision over his next move.

The report also claims that the 23-year-old is keen on a move to Tottenham as he wants to work under Mauricio Pochettino.

But Tottenham did not submit an offer for the midfielder at any stage during the summer transfer window, although they could launch a cut-price move in January.
