Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United striker has explained that he’s fulfilling a childhood dream by playing under manager Jose Mourinho this season.
The Belgium international joined the Red Devils from Everton this summer in a £75million deal, snubbing an offer from rivals Chelsea in the process.
Despite it long looking like Lukaku could rejoin the Blues, he is happy with his decision to play for United, where he has been reunited with Mourinho, who sold him at Chelsea.
Having failed to impress the Portuguese once, Lukaku now hailed the Portuguese as a major factor in making the move to Old Trafford this season.
‘I wanted to play for him since I was 11, when you get another chance you don’t say no. I’m grateful for second opportunity,’ the 24-year-old told the Premier League Show.
‘He’s always been the same, a man who wants the best from his players every day. He doesn’t give us a rest on the pitch, he wants us to fight in training and on the pitch and that’s what I like about him.
‘Off the pitch he’s a family man, someone who’ll listen to you. That’s what I like about him.’
